Common Troubleshooting Steps

The DO’s

  • Restart your computer
  • Check cables to ensure they are plugged in
  • Check with others. Same issue? If so, its not likely a problem with your PC
  • Be detailed when submitting a support ticket. “It doesn’t work” isn’t very helpful
  • Take a video of unusual blinking lights or noises, and be ready to show it to your technician
  • If the problem is urgent, please call us immediately

The DONT’s

  • Don’t restart devices such as servers, switches, firewalls, or other equipment
  • Don’t force cables in or tug on them
  • Don’t allow anyone you do not know to access your PC or network
  • Don’t click on links or open attachments in a suspicious email
  • Don’t plug USB devices into your PC, unless it has been authorized
  • Don’t hesitate to submit a support ticket. Better safe than sorry
